Originally published by St. Alphonsus Parish in 1952 as part of the 100 th anniversary of the founding of St. Alphonsus Parish.   This book covers the early history of the parish by the immigrant farmers from Germany who first settled the area in the early 1800's, the first school in 1846 in a log cabin (near Warren and Bingham) on the Esper farm, the establishment of the parish in1852, a new church built in 1874, and the present church built in 1930.   It contains many vintage photos and stories of the people who founded the parish and guided its growth through the years.
